Science Fair

Bristole is doing a super cute nature Journal for the Homeschool science fair next month.  When I researched nature journals I found tons of amazing ideas of things to do in your journal. It made me wish I had kept one growing up with all our trips outdoors.

The challenge is to make a fun science journal with your family to keep adding to over the years.

Some of the ideas they had were:
watching one spot weekly making a record of the changes
keeping flower and leaf samples
focus on an area like a pond and observe everything you can about it
record smells sights sounds and how they make you feel
make a record of the first frost and first budding of plants (helps with gardening in your area)
Study different places as you travel
Draw or take pictures of animals, plants and scenery
write at night
Go out and write in different weather

The other advice it had was to
Make sure to include where you are and the date
Don't pressure the writing ability/spelling just let kids observe
It seemed like a fun project to keep forever so I hope you will try it
