Good Food

Was just thinking today about how much I hate having to choose what to eat each night. I remember thinking how cool it was going to be when I grew up and got to eat whatever I want.
Unfortunately I cant have cookie dough for dinner. Mom's have to try to make everything balanced and avoid all the foods our picky eaters won't eat. It's way more complicated than it looks when you're 10.

I have started to make a menu again but with side dishes listed this time. It saves time deciding every night. Which is helpful with so much to do right now. As a super bonus it decreased my shopping budget by about $150. Mostly due to the fact that I told everyone we weren't throwing in anything just because it looks good at the time. If it wasn't on the list when we left home we weren't getting it. That helped a lot especially with the kids.

All this concentrating on food though brings up thoughts of some of the best foods ever.
Grandmas homemade bread and her salad dressing, Mom's Lasagna, Nate's BBQ's, Kelly's skinny meat treats,  Henrie's pea and potato soup, goulash, pizza soup and my very favorite cookie dough. Looks like I've got a good start on my next menu minus the cookie dough of course.
