write a poem about your favorite toy or thing to do.
I'd love to hear grown up ones as well as kids ones. Even if all they can do is rhyme or tell what they like and you write it out for them it would be good. My kids poems don't have much rhythm but they kind of rhyme and they did it themselves. For the really ambitious you could also give us an excerpt from your favorite poem.

Pauls Poem
Cat is my favorite toy
His stripes are very cool
he's a good toy for a boy
but don't put him in the pool
I won't share with my friend Roy
but I might take him to school
Anthonys Poem
Puppy is my favorite toy
I sleep with him every night
I've had him since I was a boy
I like to keep him in sight
Bri's Poem
Dolls are very very fun
I like to carry them around
I'll take the dolls out in the sun
when they sleep I don't make a sound
My favorite thing to do is read,
I'd rather read than plant a seed.
I like to hide with a book
In some quiet little nook.
A book can take me anywhere
If the day is cloudy or fair.
Try it and I think you'll see
Why reading is the best for me
One of my favorite poem is called Self control
by Polly Chase Boyden
My dolly would not play with me
She simply stared
Her silly stare
It made me wild
to pull her hair
I kissed her very quietly
And walked outdoors and kicked a tree.
Grandma Walker
My favorite toys are my pigs
I know its not the type of toy that most people dig.
my favorite one's name is farmer
IF you let him in he's quite the charmer!
I like my bike
Its better than a trike
It gets me where I want to go
But I don't pedal it in the snow
Two nice baskets carry my stuff
So I don't crash and land on my duff
Uphill is tough, downhill is swift
Don't mess with my tires, or I will be miffed
I like my bike
I wouldn't trade it for a kite
I like my blogging
Sometimes the computer I'm Hogging
I didn't know about this sight
Now I will check it every night
If Chase and James were out of bed
I am sure something more would be said
No more rhyming, I mean it
Anybody want a peanut :]
