So I've been thinking a bit about my goals lately. Mostly because I like having projects to keep me busy. I tend to become consumed by projects when I start them and let all else go. Homeschooling was my project for the last several years and much time was devoted to it, at the expense of my housework and sometimes my sanity. I think I need to have a better balance between all areas of my life Some for me and some for the kids and some for Nate and some for others. Writing out all the things I'd like to be better at and the list becomes overwhelming. While doing it I figured a lot out about what I want. In the end I found I could organize them into a few categories of what matters most to me.
Improving my parenting
Giving my kids 1 on 1 time daily
Lifelong learning (study home health, gardening, upholstery etc. books)
Financial goals (from buying good pie tins, to paying off our house, and adding to savings)
Becoming a better wife (including goals to work on as a couple)
Deep cleaning and Organizing Goals
Improving my community involvement (including school, neighbor and service projects)
Art and sewing
Home improvement
Religious goals
Health and (I never pictured myself saying this) Beauty
Cooking
Yard, pets and gardening
Holiday and tradition making and
Social and entertaining goals
Seriously it is a 7 page list (just single column) typed. A daunting task to say the least. The tasks range from the small to the really long term. Some have to be repeated often like baseboards others yearly like crocheting scarfs. I haven't decided yet how I'm going to organize these tasks. Some areas I may focus on one day a month like entertaining, some areas I may devote some time to every day like health (exercising), Some like art or sewing I may devote all my spare time in a particular month to a project. Which ever way I decide to go I at least have a plan.

That's really cool, Amber, & I like what you've put on your list. I really should do the same kind of thing! Balance is a hard thing to master in life, but you're so right about how important it is!
